One way to judge the appropriateness of a consulting firm is to look at the package of services that it offers. Frequently, the large consulting firms offer a broad range of services (from tax auditing to feasability studies to PR services) to a broad range of industries (from smallholder farmers to Coca-Cola to Citibank). While they may have separate departments for each service, the difference in industry profiles can be hard to successfully manage.
